A high-quality fixed prosthesis with a dental implant

Dental implants are small artificial titanium roots that serve as a support for a crown, bridge or prosthesis. They allow you to replace a tooth without touching the neighbouring teeth.

As it is a precise treatment designed to last for many years, it is important to be treated by a dentist experienced in implantology.

A reliable and widely proven technology.

Used since the 1960s, implants are now a safe, common and very well-documented solution for replacing missing teeth. They can support a single tooth, a more extensive bridge or stabilise a complete prosthesis.

Made from titanium, a perfectly biocompatible material, implants integrate firmly into the bone during healing. Studies show that they offer a very natural appearance and comfort similar to that of an original tooth.

What does implant treatment involve? Does it hurt?

1. Examination

We begin with a comprehensive examination of your mouth, accompanied by X-rays. This allows us to assess the amount of bone available, identify sensitive areas (nerves, sinuses) and precisely plan the placement of the implant.

If necessary, a 3D scan (cone beam) is performed for an even more detailed view.

Objective: to ensure a safe, predictable treatment perfectly tailored to your situation.

2. Implant placement

The placement is carried out under local anaesthesia and is more like a filling than actual surgery.

A small incision is made to access the bone, into which the implant is carefully inserted. In some cases, if there is insufficient bone, bone regeneration can be performed at the same time.

Most patients describe the procedure as painless, and the aftereffects are generally very mild and well controlled with simple painkillers.

3. Healing and impression

Once the implant is placed, the bone will gradually bond around it, ensuring its long-term stability.

When the gum has healed properly, we take a very precise impression or digital scan.

The laboratory then fabricates a custom-made tooth (crown or bridge) that matches your colour, shape and smile.

4. Placement of the definitive tooth

The new tooth is screwed or fixed onto the implant, then carefully adjusted to ensure a natural feel. We check your bite, comfort, aesthetics and stability.

A follow-up appointment may be scheduled to ensure everything is progressing perfectly and that you are completely comfortable.

Frequently asked questions about dental implants

With good hygiene and regular check-ups, an implant can last a lifetime. The crown may need replacing after 10 to 15 years.

The choice of implant depends on several factors: the amount of bone available, the position of the missing tooth and your general health. During the consultation, Dr Johannes will assess your situation and recommend the most suitable implant for your case.

The cost depends on the complexity of the case. A detailed estimate is always provided after the initial examination.

The placement is carried out under local anaesthesia. Most patients report little or no pain during and after the procedure.
