Dentist for children in Satigny
The world of children is spectacular. That is why we pay special attention to their specific needs and create a comfortable and fun atmosphere.
An early start gives lifelong advantages
Scientific studies show that preventing problems in primary teeth has a protective effect on the permanent dentition.
Paediatric dentistry focuses on early prevention and education, helping children (and their parents) to develop good oral hygiene habits from the very start. This paves the way for a lifetime with a healthy mouth.
Preventive measures at the practice include regular check-ups, cleanings, fluoride treatments and sometimes fissure sealants on the molars. The aim: to stop dental problems before they become serious. This is good news for the child, who is less burdened, and for the parents, who save time and money.
Care tailored to children
If, despite all your efforts and ours, treatment proves necessary, it is not a cause for concern. Our team is specially trained to understand and respond to children’s needs.
We create a comfortable and fun atmosphere, reducing the anxiety and fear associated with dental visits.
That is why, even though it comes from a good intention, we recommend not over-preparing your child before the visit to the dentist. This can trigger unnecessary fears and make the treatment more difficult than it needs to be. Trust us, we know how to put them at ease!
Growth monitoring and orthodontics
An important part of dental care for children is monitoring the growth and position of the teeth. Often, the permanent teeth do not have enough space to fit harmoniously into the dental arch, which can lead to difficulties in chewing and aesthetic problems.
Sometimes, jaw growth is disrupted. In such cases, and to take advantage of the child’s natural growth, it is advisable to consult an orthodontist who can guide growth in the right direction and correct the position of the teeth as quickly as possible.
Dr Wolfgang Johannes, our orthodontist, specialises in growth problems and space issues. His aim: to help children enjoy beautiful, healthy smiles for their entire lives.
Our goal: healthy smiles for life
We will adapt to each of your children to provide them with optimal care, with great patience and experience.
The primary goal is to strengthen their self-confidence and general well-being, for healthy smiles that last a lifetime.
Frequently asked questions from parents
We recommend a first visit at around 2-3 years of age, or as soon as the first primary teeth appear. This visit allows us to check that everything is developing well and to get the child used to the dental practice environment in a positive way.
Yes, absolutely! Primary teeth play an essential role: they enable the child to eat and speak properly, and they maintain the space needed for the permanent teeth. An untreated cavity on a primary tooth can affect the permanent tooth forming beneath it.
The best approach is to keep it simple and positive. Avoid going into too much detail about what will happen or using words like “pain” or “injection”. Present the visit as something normal and pleasant. Our team will know how to put your child at ease from the moment they arrive.
We monitor tooth and jaw growth from the regular check-up visits. If we detect a positioning or growth problem, we will refer you to our orthodontist, Dr Johannes, at the most appropriate time — generally between the ages of 6 and 9 for an initial assessment.
