Dental hygiene and scaling
Modern dentistry aims to preserve your teeth for your entire life. Good oral hygiene is the key to preventing cavities, gum problems and bad breath.
Your smile deserves daily attention and regular professional care.
A collaboration between you and our team
Bacterial dental deposits are the cause not only of cavities but also of gum problems, such as gum recession, periodontitis and bad breath.
The aim of good oral hygiene and scaling is to minimise these deposits in order to reduce the risk of oral diseases. Dental hygiene is always a team effort: your daily care at home on one side, and professional scaling by our dental hygienist on the other.
Our hygienist cleans the hard-to-reach areas and advises you on the best cleaning techniques suited to your mouth.
How does a dental hygiene session work?
1. Examination and assessment
The hygienist examines the condition of your gums, checks for tartar and assesses the areas requiring particular attention.
2. Scaling and professional cleaning
With our modern equipment, scaling is as comfortable as possible. We remove tartar and plaque from the areas your toothbrush cannot reach, leaving your mouth feeling fresh and clean.
3. Personalised advice
You receive recommendations tailored to your needs: brushing technique, choice of dental floss or interdental brushes, and ideal frequency of visits.
Why regular follow-up is essential
Regular maintenance is particularly important if you suffer from periodontal problems, if you have prosthetic restorations or dental implants.
Without regular professional cleaning, bacteria accumulate in hard-to-reach areas and can compromise the health of your gums and the longevity of your dental treatments.
The recommended frequency varies depending on your situation: generally, one to two sessions per year are sufficient. More frequent follow-up may be necessary in cases of periodontitis.
Warning signs to watch for
- Bleeding gums when brushing
- Persistent bad breath
- Red, swollen or sensitive gums
- Visible deposits or staining on the teeth
- Rough feeling on the teeth
- Sensitivity to hot or cold
If you recognise one or more of these signs, don’t wait: a professional cleaning can make all the difference.
What our patients say
I am extremely grateful for the care I received. Having a genuine phobia of the dentist, I was dreading the appointment, but my dentist put me at ease from the very first minutes, as she always does. Her gentleness, attentiveness and professionalism are rare and precious. Thanks to her, I was able to undergo treatment with complete peace of mind. She is a true gem in her field!
My experience was extremely positive, and I would like to give special thanks to Mrs Dal Zotto. She reassured me with her kindness and gentleness, which truly transformed my perception of dentists.
My 9-year-old daughter was seen by the hygienist Yasmina. She is very gentle, takes her time with children and gives helpful advice. I recommend her 100%. She does a wonderful job.
Excellent welcome, outstanding treatment, skilled and high-quality work. A wonderful team with great values. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire team.
